Sometimes when I get a project from a band or artist who doesn’t have much experience setting up and running a proper recording session, I wish I’d been there at the very beginning. A little basic know-how upfront can dramatically improve the final mix—and save everyone time and money.

This isn’t an online course or a few emails back and forth. I’m talking about a Zoom session where we share screens and set up your Logic project properly before you ever hit record. I’ll help you get the best tones possible with the gear you already have and show you how to manage your project from start to finish—so you’re not learning your DAW while trying to record your music.

A quick note: I work exclusively in Logic Pro. I have general knowledge of other DAWs, but Logic is where my expertise lives, so that’s mainly

who this service is for. If you just need general recording advice or you record in a different DAW I’m happy to help with that too.

This kind of coaching will look different for everyone. Some of you are pretty new to recording and might struggle with things like hardware choices, gain staging, grouping and editing, mic placement, or knowing which plugins to use—and when. That’s totally fine. We were all there once.

You might be thinking “am I one of the clients that sent Fogal a jacked-up recording?” No. It’s not you. It’s me. In the 20 years I’ve been mixing other people’s music this has been in the back of my mind.

Here’s the deal: if you’re going to send me your tracks to mix or master, I don’t want to spend hours fixing avoidable problems. I’d much rather mix and be creative! If we can eliminate issues before they become real problems, everyone wins. If I have to spend two or three hours fixing stuff before I can even start mixing, that’s still your money. This helps prevent that.

How it works:We book a Zoom session and work together for as long as you want. I charge my hourly miscellaneous rate—70/hour(in your local currency). You’re not obligated to send your project to me afterward, but if you do, great. Honestly, I’ll probably say yes—because even after coaching, this saves me time in the long run.

You’re welcome to record the Zoom, revisit it later, and we can stop or continue at any point in your recording process. Totally flexible. That’s the pitch. If you’re into it, hit the contact page.
